What could have done this?

Wow! We're not sure what to think of this, but this sort of injury probably happens all the time in the wild. We're not saying Bigfoot did this, but BFE reader Michael Brookreson  has a pretty good idea what type of animal is capable of doing this:

Texas Hillcountry Crypto picks up deer on Ozark camera trap with fresh seveBFRre depredation injury. I don't know about you guys, to me this looks like a big mountain lion lost a kill.

  2. Mountain lions kill by going for necks of prey. Secondary attack would be the legs to bring prey down, They don't take a chunk out of a back of a deer.

  5. At least the Missouri Dept. of Conservation does not dismiss cougars in MO, like a lot of others do.

Why do you only take one bite out of a Deer?

A good deer does not deserve to be eaten all at once.

    Great find Mr. Brookreson.

  6. Anything could have done this except a bigfoot.

  7. This looks more like a non-fatal interaction with a vehicle than a mt. lion. Lions, or cougars, attack primarly from the rear to bring the animal down, and then go for the throat and neck area. At any rate, a lion attack would not remove a patch of skin like that. This was an encounter with a speeding buick.

    1. It could have been either Joe or Rictor as they too prefer to attack from the rear.

  11. That's why you aim for the vitals, I see this fairly often after rifle season in Missouri. I have several similar pictures from my trail cams. It could also be a broad head injury from a mis aligned bow shot. It will likely die from infection or exposure soon enough

  12. No way a cougar left an injury such as this, sorry. They go for the neck not high on the shoulder

  13. This is clearly the best evidence since the hoaxed PGF.

    1. Yes, there is the genuine PGF which was shot in 1967, and then there is the hoaxed PGF latterly shot by Packham/BBC.

One can only cringe at Packham's attempt at a debunk sally, the result of which was a self-debunking and auto-demolition extraordinaire.

It's painfully revealing that sceptic extremists sometimes embrace this failure and its author as a success and heroic. Their gullibility knows no bounds.

Of course on other days, they take a position 180 degrees out and declare the BBC bigfoot 'was intentionally bad in order to keep the bigfoot gravy train rollin'.' In which case they are claiming that Packham, with the BBC's support, intentionally created a howlingly hysterical PGF redux attempt.

If so, why did Packham stumble over himself and leap and jump and grasp at the flimsiest of straws to proclaim that his joke flick 'conclusively proved that that PGF is a hoax'? In those segments he hyperventilates while bounding from one unrelated 'conclusion' to the next.

He sets fire to the scientific method instantly and pours petrol on it by seizing on unrelated conjecture and speculation, gaspingly declaring them to be fact. He comes fairly unhinged while trying to connect lunatic speculation to fact, and deranged conjecture to truth.
